Sandplay and Counselling

My work in the community welfare sector commenced in 1990 working with disadvantaged families in a child protection context, I later studied counselling with Unifam Training and Education which in 2006 led me to a counselling and case management role working with separated parents in conflict about their children.

My passion for Sandplay therapy is ongoing because of its profound effectiveness

Furthering my studies I completed the Diploma of Counselling and Clinical Supervisor Training with the Australian Institute of Relationship Studies. I have progressed to providing clinical supervision to Family Advisors in post-separation parenting. I also have a child consultant role in a child-inclusive practice context.  I am still in this very satisfying and worthwhile work.

In 2008 I discovered Sandplay therapy, a powerful and effective symbol-work  method, and was inspired to study it over the following nine years.  Firstly with The Crucible Centre for Professional Sandplay Facilitation then with Sandplay Australia for Advanced Sandplay, Relationship Sandplay and Shadow Exploration

My Practice

As a Sandplay practitioner I have my own private practice - Emerge Counselling and Sandplay.

Sandplay is a very versatile technique and works well with adults, teenagers and children. For children Sandplay is a non-confronting, creative method to help them process their experience and gently resolve problems. For teenagers and adults Sandplay smoothly allows the source of any situation to emerge, enabling real healing and integration.

My passion for Sandplay therapy is ongoing because of it’s profound effectiveness and is why it’s my preferred method to assist people in their healing and personal growth journeys.
